The Tudor House: Mad Scientist Party

Special Event Something has been quietly taking shape behind closed doors…. Strange equipment has been wheeled in. Shadowy figures in lab coats have been coming and going. Fearful lab techs have been muttering, “It’s alive… oh, god, it’s alive! Wait… Maybe it’s not. Nevermind. I was wrong. But it’s still definitely weird.” On April 25th, our experiment reaches a breakthrough, and we’ll celebrate by throwing the kind of party that would make Neil Patrick Harris proud (and maybe a bit concerned)… Mad Science Night! Join us for games, test tubes and beakers full of questionable beverages, and a series of interactive demo stations including impact, rope, and electric play. (Please reach out to us if you are a regular attendee and you’d like to volunteer to run a demo station!) Whether you’re a mad scientist looking to experiment or a willing victim looking to be dragged into the lab, this is your night! Do it ?for science? . New guests will be asked to schedule a vetting call or be vouched for by a current attendee. ? What to Expect An evening of applied curiosity! A controlled environment for uncontrolled outcomes! A hands-on experience where you’ll start with questions and end with fascinating new data points! (Like how many licks does it take to get to the center of a… wait… hasn’t this already been answered somewhere before? Find the minions! They gave us the wrong experiment!) Throughout the night, the house will feature a series of live demonstration spaces focused on different forms of play. These are guided, educational, and occasionally… enlightening. You can move from space to space, observe, ask questions, or have a new type of play demoed on yourself. ?? Experiments in Progress A hands-on investigation into stimulus and response! Structured demos begin at 8:00 PM, then run until around 10 PM, after which the lab opens up for independent research. ? Electrical Sensation Trials (electric play) ?? Repeated Impact Study (impact play) ?? Topology and Tensile Testing (rope) ??And more! (Please message us if you’d like to suggest a topic!) Each space will have someone experienced guiding the process, walking through technique, safety, and approach. You are encouraged to engage at your own pace. Participation is always optional. ?? Games Challenge A Scientist: Explore the boundaries of cause and effect when you go toe to toe with a fellow mad scientist. The loser will receive a (pre-negotiated) punishment. Control vs. Variable: One person is the control. One is the variable. One thing will change between them (like intensity, sensation type, or position), and we, the scientists, will observe the reaction! Lab Assistant Onboarding: Do you have what it takes to work in a mad scientist’s lab? Find out through a series of increasingly unscientific challenges. Games will be ridiculous and entirely lacking in peer review. ?? Beaker Cocktails and Mocktails ?? A carefully curated collection of experimental beverages, mixed, measured, and occasionally eyeballed with confidence. Watch as liquids change color, bubble mysteriously, and get handed to you with a reassuring “this should be fine.” Some drinks will be precise. Some will be… iterative. All are part of the research. ?? Dungeon and Play Space The dungeon will be open during the night for those who wish to use it, although some spaces will be in use as demo stations until about 10:00 PM. Equipment includes: St. Andrew’s Cross Spanking bench Chain spiderweb Reverse glory hole Coffin glory hole Massage table Beds and aftercare spaces Bring your own implements. Clean gear after use. Respect the space and each other. ?? Dress Code Suggested: Spicy lab-ready and liable to draw fines from OSHA. Wear something that will add a little heat to your experiments! Think harnesses, aprons, lab coats and lingerie, straps, gloves, goggles, or anything that says “I am here to do science… or to be the experiment.” Keep it vanilla to the door and when outside. ?? Potluck & BYOB Please bring an entrée, appetizer, or dessert to share. Just something to keep in mind… The entrees and healthier options have been going fastest! :) Alcohol is allowed in moderation ?? Overnight Stay Crash space is available. Please let us know ahead of time if you plan to stay so we can plan breakfast. Morning will include pancakes and coffee. After 3:00 AM, shared sleeping areas become quiet spaces. ??
